Do you like to work with your hands? Do you enjoy being outdoors? If you do, being a Wood Angel may be just right for you!
Many families face hardships providing what some would consider simple basic needs for themselves. Wood Angels focuses on just one need: heating homes. We belive that no one in our community should go without heat in their home and we are here to help. If someone lacks the physical ability or financial means to get their own firewood, they can call on us to help. Now we are calling on you.
When it comes to labor and time, no amount is too little. Whether you can spare us an hour a week, or forty hours, you WILL make a difference in someone's life. Our recipients include low income: seniors, elderly, disabled, veterans and families who are our neighbors in our community.
Our greatest need, even more than a supply of wood and money is volunteers to process the vast quantities of wood we have at our yard. If you can find room in your heart and on your calendar to spend some time with us, you will be providing warmth and security for someone in need.
What duties are volunteers asked to do?
We have a variety of duties every day at our wood yard. There is something for everyone to help with, big/small, old/young, men/women we have lots of projects for all abilities. During spring we work on processing wood for deliveries that start in the fall.
If you want to bring your chainsaw, we ALWAYS have logs that need to be bucked.
If you want to split wood, we have commercial splitters that can always be ran.
If you want to help with general clean up, sorting split wood and round piles, filing chains, organizing storage areas and much much more we have plenty for you to do.
If you want to help drive our delivery trucks and make deliveries during delivery season we can set you up to do that as well.
*You will need to attend a couple of work parties to understand the organization works before being allowed to jump into the trucks.

Come to a work party. The best way to stay up to date on work parties is to provide us with an email address, we will then add you to our wood angels update email list.
